Dan Rosen and David Thacher Appointed to Geospiza’s Board of Directors

Industry Veterans to Strengthen Focus on Software as a Service

SEATTLE, WA – June 4, 2008 – Geospiza, Inc., the market leading developer of genetic analysis software, has announced the appointment of Daniel Rosen, Ph.D. and David Thacher to its Board of Directors. "

David Thacher, formerly a Microsoft Partner, led the worldwide R&D effort for Dynamics CRM. Thacher directed the CRM business and product group from its inception. He joined Microsoft in 1988 and held various leadership roles within the Microsoft Windows NT®, Publisher, Office and bCentral™ teams. He is a graduate of Yale University.

Rosen is CEO of Dan Rosen & Associates, a business he founded in 2006. Prior to which, he was the founding general partner for six years at Frazier Technology Ventures, which he co-founded in 2000. Previously, Rosen served in several executive posts while at Microsoft Corporation, including general manager of new technology at Microsoft Research and general manager, MSN Network. Earlier in his career, Rosen was the VP and general manager of AT&T's first consumer Internet offering and was also AT&T's first managing director for Northern & Eastern Europe. Rosen began his professional career at Bell Labs.

Rosen holds a Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of California San Diego and a B.A. in biology from Brandeis University. Rosen has been on the board of many public and private companies. He currently chairs the Alliance of Angels and is a director of Modumetal, Zero Crossing Engineering, and a member of the University of Washington Technology Transfer Advisory Board, the Technology Alliance, and the Seattle Humane Society.

Thacher and Rosen join a distinguished board with several noted business and technology leaders, including Steve Wood, Gordon Gardiner, Joe Ashley, Rob Arnold and Todd Smith.
