New GeneSifter Release Delivers Enhanced Microarray Capabilities and Boosts Award-winning Usability
Market Leading Genetic Analysis Software Platform Expands Support for Lab Managers and Scientific Researchers

SEATTLE, WA – July 9, 2009 – Geospiza, Inc., the market leading developer of genetic analysis software, today announced its most recent GeneSifter® software release, including enhanced support for microarray customers and other improvements that support laboratory operations for Next Generation Sequencing.

GeneSifter Lab Edition is the only Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) platform to provide support for all Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing platforms, including AB SOLiD, Illumina GA, Roche 454 and Helicos, out-of-the-box. With this new release, it further enhances support for more established microarray technologies from Affymetrix, Illumina, Roche and Agilent.

This release also extends GeneSifter’s innovative support for Next Generation Sequencing Data Analysis. Geospiza’s open and transparent approach to data analysis leverages best practices from the community to provide verifiable results based on peer reviewed methods and algorithms. To advance rapid changes and improvements in next gen analysis, Geospiza has exposed multiple analysis pipelines to provide Lab Edition customers with advanced access to those in a beta or testing phase.

The enhanced microarray support increases experiment tracking for key platforms. New workflow features provide additional sample organizations, increased custom descriptions, more detailed run tracking, and flexible data linking to increase efficiency. Integration between GeneSifter Lab Edition and GeneSifter Analysis Edition continues to enable better coordination and communication between labs and researchers.
