Geospiza Extends Data Analysis Capabilities for Next Generation DNA Sequencing SEATTLE, Washington – October 8, 2008 –Geospiza, Inc., the market leading developer of genetic analysis software, today announced its most recent FinchLab™ software release, including significant analysis enhancements for Next Generation Sequencing. As the only software product that can track a sample through its entire life cycle from experimental design to “Our newest FinchLab release demonstrates our ongoing commitment to extend FinchLab’s analytic capabilities,” said Todd Smith, CEO of Geospiza. “This is the first of several releases planned over the next six months to respond to our customers’ demand for increasingly sophisticated and diverse analytic capabilities for Next Generation DNA Sequencing.” “One message we hear over and over is how different Next Gen sequencing is from Sanger Sequencing,” Smith continued. “In particular, laboratories that used to deliver raw data now need to deliver processed information in the form of transcript maps, gene lists, density plots, patterns of variation, or assembled contigs. Integrated systems that can support both laboratory operations and bioinformatics specialists are going to be very important, and we are very strong in this area.” Specifically, the current release supports the Tag Profiling, Resequencing, Transcriptome and ChIP Seq Analysis
Pipelines for the Illumina Genome Analyzer and Tag Profiling and Transcriptome Analysis Pipelines for Applied
Biosystems SOLiD. There are also substantial improvements for Roche 454 workflows and many aspects of the
lab management system. The next release, planned for November will include additional analysis capabilities for
AB SOLiD and Roche 454. About Geospiza For more information, please contact: |
