Analysis:
The authors used microarray analysis (CodeLink mouse 10K array) to examine gene expression in the salivary glands of male and female BALB/c mice. Data analysis performed using GeneSifter demonstrates that significant sex-related differences exist in the expression of numerous genes in the major salivary glands, and many of these differences were tissue-specific.
