Geospiza has an ongoing and active research program devoted to improving the scalability and automation of technologies used in bioinformatics. As the field of bioinformatics develops existing tools often need to be reengineered to support new applications.

Geospiza staff and scientists have experience in many areas of biological research, including cell biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, medicinal chemistry, and genomics. Our scientists participate actively in the research community, collaborating with biologists and computer scientists on a wide variety of projects related to SNP discovery, genetics, phylogeny, sequence analysis, and other topics. Our in-house projects focus on developing, engineering, and validating algorithms for biological research. We’re also engaged in educational research to measure the effectiveness of bioinformatics activities on student learning.

For more information about Geospiza’s research efforts or the potential for future collaborations, please request more information or call (206) 633-4403.
